Do I need the AXEO23?

Whether or not you need our AXEO23 kit, will depend on the front wheel size you have on your bike. If you currently have or plan in the future to run a 23" front wheel, then you will need our AXEO23 cartridge kit.

When a 23" front wheel is installed, the front fender has to be relocated further up the fork leg to accommodate the larger diameter front wheel. When the front fender is moved further up the fork leg, there ends up being less clearance between the front fender and the lower triple tree or fairing. Without any limiting of travel, the inadvertent contact of the front fender and the lower triple tree/fairing can occur under extreme suspension compression, which can result in damage to the front fender.

To prevent this situation from occurring, the overall suspension travel needs to be limited. Our AXEO23 kit accounts for the reduced clearance between the front fender and lower triple tree/fairing when a 23" front wheel is installed on the bike, and limits travel by roughly 1.25" to prevent this inadvertent contact and resulting fender damage. The cartridge kit maintains the stock fork tube length, just reducing the overall travel of the front suspension, while still improving the ride quality and handling aspects of the motorcycle.

The travel limit collars supplied with our AXEO23 kits are what actually limit the travel and are machined with a tapered end to maintain the stock hydraulic stop qualities provided by the OE alignments cups.
