Can I use a 1" Lowered AXEO High-Performance with a 21" or 23" front wheel?
We often receive the question, "Can I use the 1" Lowered AXEO on my bike with a 21 or 23" front wheel?" - The answer is always NO. You will need to use either the AXEO21 High-Performance or AXEO23 High-Performance kit depending on your front wheel size (21" or 23").
We often receive this question from customers looking to lower the front of the bike after the height in the front has been increased from a larger diameter aftermarket front wheel. The thought is that by using the 1" Lowered AXEO with the larger diameter front wheel, the resulting ride height will be close to stock. While this is true, the problem it presents is there ends up being a significant reduction in clearance available between the front fender and lower triple tree/fairing. Because of the limited clearance, there is now the issue of the front fender actually contacting the lower triple tree/fairing when the suspension is compressed. This reduction in clearance results in a need to limit travel in order to prevent this contact, which is what the AXEO21 and AXEO23 kits are designed to do.
