Are my shocks supposed to move/pivot after being installed?
Correct installation of our shocks is crucial for optimal performance. When installed properly, the shocks should rotate or pivot side to side. This design feature prevents binding in the chassis caused by up and down or side-to-side swing arm movement, ensuring stability during cornering.
One common installation mistake is using the large OEM flat washer from the stock suspension, which prevents the spherical bearings from functioning correctly and can cause binding. This can lead to premature wear and potential damage to the shocks. We recommend following the installation guide provided with our shocks and using the Legend-provided spacers and OEM hardware for proper installation. Refer to the installation guide for the correct spacer orientation to ensure the shocks pivot correctly.
