Why is one of my shocks shorter than the other?
What you're experiencing isn't due to any issue with the Legend product you're installing. Our components are CNC machined with tight tolerances, ensuring consistency down to .003" of an inch.
The issue arises from inconsistencies in the welded components of the rear subframe assembly, compounded by factors like the age, mileage, and usage of the bike. Even new bikes can exhibit this issue during test-fittings. It's not uncommon to see a 1/8" to 3/16" difference between the left and right side mounting points, which isn't noticeable with stock shocks or those with rubber bushings.
We recommend installing the longer side first, then adjusting the jack and weight on the tire to align the mounting holes for the other shock.
